Chris and Jen invited the Caldwells and the Van de Pols to spend a week together on the western shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. We managed to have one day when all Caldwell kids and grandkids were together.

Who could guess beforehand just how full a Grandma's lap can be after 4 years and how each child added to a family is such a priceless gift? Chloe (4), Calvin (3), Storey Estelle (2) and Nora (1).

Filling my house and heart!!

One thing that fills my corner of the world with joy is to have people spend time with me in my home. And when it's my children and grandchildren, it's the best of all!! Notice the space left for my missing, favorite son-in-law.

Nora Claire joins the family

Little Miss Nora Claire made her arrival with not too much fuss or stuggle. The whole family was very happy to meet her in person, but the one with the widest eyes and most awed expression was big brother, Calvin!!

Annual Post..it seems

Cousins Chloe, Calvin and Storey have visited together only a few times in the last year, but each time seems more fun than the last. Here is the 3-some during a recent family week on a beautiful ranch in Montana. They were surrounded by mountains, horses and grown-ups who delight in their charms, antics and affection for each other.

Chloe's Baby Sister

Arriving after several weeks of sporadic, mild activity and a surreal 75 minutes of labor, Storey Estelle was delivered to the first nurse available at the Murray Women’s Center at 8:15 PM. Truly, she was one small decision from being born at home. Storey was 7# 8 oz and 20 inches. Her middle name is a blend of her Grandma Esther and her Great Aunt Adele. Nineteen hours later, both mom and baby were washed, dressed and settled back home!!

The Wasatch mountains seem to sing for joy the first morning of Story’s life and everyone was a bit breathless at the timing of her arrival.

Things to pass on

When he was 5 months, Calvin's mommy needed to spend a few days in Door County, WI on business and Grandma went along to take care of him when she was busy. They visited a number of interesting sites like theaters, galleries, museums and restaurants. One theater was on the shore of Green Bay and, while mommy talked business, Grandma thought Calvin might like to dip his feet in and feel a little bit of all that water. The water was chilly, so Grandma helped her curious little guy stand in a place where only the souls of his feet would be in the water for a few seconds. You have to watch Grandma. She'll head for the water, rocks and hills whenever there's a few free minutes.
